Family challenges can sometimes be difficult to manage. Parents and carers can often find the pressures of family life overwhelming and simply too much to cope with alone. Through a network of trained volunteers Home Start helps around 1,500 families each year by giving practical and confidential emotional support when they most need it. In a non-judgemental way they provide professional friendship that helps families to gain skills they need to nurture their family; helping them to grow in confidence, strengthen relationships with their children, improve their health and wellbeing and widen their links within the local community.
