WORDS AND MUSIC FOR A FAIRER WORLD
Saturday 4 July from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. sees the presentation by Bury St Edmunds Amnesty International of “Words and Music for a Fairer World” at the Quaker Meeting House, Bury St Edmunds, St John’s Street.
A talented group of five local writers and actors will perform a series of humorous readings at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., each session lasting no more than for half an hour.
In the interlude the Cliffords Trio, consisting of Gav Milnthorpe on trombone, Chris Thorpe on trumpet and Chris Hull on keys, will play jazz standards in the foyer.
Light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon in the Garden Room, where interested members of the public can also find out more about Amnesty’s work.
There is no charge and no need to book but cash donations will be invited for Amnesty International to offset costs of the event and to raise funds for Amnesty’s human rights work. We welcome all, whether for the whole event or for a short visit.
